Food Service / Nutritional Counseling

The goal of the Nutritional Services Department at SSCH is to provide meals which are nutritious, appropriate for your specific diet, safe and attractive. Your doctor and your dietitian will work together to determine which diet may be most beneficial for you for your specific medical condition. The dietitians may conduct a nutrition assessment and explain the relationship between your diet and your medical condition. During your hospital stay, they will meet with you, and your caregivers if desired, to provide meal-planning information and education to assist you in complying with the diet which the doctor has prescribed for you to follow when you go home.
